Trump Absolutely Buries ‘Stupid and Foolish Republicans’ for Focusing On Epstein Story

President Donald Trump ramped up his attacks on his own supporters over their continued focus on the Jeffrey Epstein story.

During an Oval Office pool spray on Tuesday — a reporter confronted the president about his comments early Tuesday dismissing the Epstein story as a “hoax.”

“Has your Attorney General told you this was a hoax?” The reporter asked. “What evidence have you seen of that?”

Trump denied that Attorney General Pam Bondi told him it was a hoax and did not specify how he reached that conclusion.

“No, it’s not the Attorney General,” Trump said. “No, I know it’s a hoax. It’s started by Democrats. It’s been run by the Democrats for four years.”

In a Truth Social post earlier Tuesday, Trump effectively disowned those in his base who are still concerned about the Epstein story.

“I have had more success in 6 months than perhaps any President in our Country’s history, and all these people want to talk about, with strong prodding by the Fake News and the success starved Dems, is the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax,” Trump said. “Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don’t even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want their support anymore!”

Trump doubled down on that stance in his Oval Office remarks Tuesday afternoon.

“It’s all been a big hoax, it’s perpetrated by the Democrats,” Trump said. “And some stupid Republicans and foolish Republicans fall into the net. And so they try and do the Democrats’ work. The Democrats are good for nothing other than these hoaxes.”

The president’s dismissal of the Epstein story as a Democrat-driven hoax flies in the face of the years of comments from his own DOJ hierarchy — including FBI Director Kash Patel and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino — alleging a larger conspiracy was at play and vowing to expose it.

Nonetheless, Trump blamed Democrats — and sniped at his own supporters for helping him.

“The sad part is it’s people that are really doing the Democrats’ work,” Trump said. “They’re stupid people.”
