Trump Torches ‘Fake News’ Pollsters – Including Fox News – and Demands ‘ELECTION FRAUD’ Probe: ‘THEY ARE SICK’
President Donald Trump went scorched earth on “fake news” pollsters Monday, throwing even Fox News into the mix after a series of brutal polls showed his approval rating plummeting as he nears the 100-day mark of his second term.
Multiple polls have found that Trump’s approval rating the lowest 100-day rating of any president in the last 80 years, but it was pollster John McLaughlin’s flag of the results that appeared to prompt the president to lash out early Monday on Truth Social, labeling the polls “FAKE” and calling for an “ELECTION FRAUD” investigation into the media outlets behind them.
Trump wrote:
Great Pollster John McLaughlin, one of the most highly respected in the industry, has just stated that The Failing New York Times Poll, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll, about a person named DONALD J. TRUMP, ME, are FAKE POLLS FROM FAKE NEWS ORGANIZATIONS. The New York Times has only 37% Trump 2024 voters, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll has only 34% Trump Voters, unheard of numbers unless looking for a negative result, which they are. These people should be investigated for ELECTION FRAUD, and add in the FoxNews Pollster while you’re at it. They are Negative Criminals who apologize to their subscribers and readers after I WIN ELECTIONS BIG, much bigger than their polls showed I would win, loose a lot of credibility, and then go on cheating and lying for the next cycle, only worse. They suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and there is nothing that anyone, or anything, can do about it. THEY ARE SICK, almost only write negative stories about me no matter how well I am doing (99.9% at the Border, BEST NUMBER EVER!), AND ARE TRULY THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! I wish them well, but will continue to fight to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
He followed with a further post:
We don’t have a Free and Fair “Press” in this Country anymore. We have a Press that writes BAD STORIES, and CHEATS, BIG, ON POLLS. IT IS COMPROMISED AND CORRUPT. SAD!
The tirade comes as the polls found that the majority of Americans disapprove of Trump’s economic policies, border security management, immigration actions, and expansion of presidential power, according to ABC, NBC, and CNN surveys. In one of the most devastating findings, 72% of Americans told ABC they believe Trump’s economic policies will trigger a recession, while more than 60% said he disrespects the rule of law.
A New York Times/Siena College poll found Trump with a 42% approval rating and a 54% disapproval rating, with majorities rejecting his handling of immigration, the federal government, the economy, trade, foreign conflicts, the Russia-Ukraine war, and the controversial deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
More than half of respondents described Trump’s presidency as “scary” and “chaotic” — sentiments shared by significant portions of Republicans, with 47% calling it chaotic and 36% calling it scary.
But it was Trump’s open call for fraud investigations into Fox News that comes as a shock. The network has long been seen as a bastion of support for Trump, but its occasional critical coverage and 100-day polling data have repeatedly drawn his fury.
A Fox News poll published last week found that Trump’s overall approval rating has dropped to 44%, down five points from March and trailing the 100-day marks of former presidents Joe Biden (54%), Barack Obama (62%), and George W. Bush (63%).
Meanwhile, Fox News polls showed, 59% of voters are unhappy with the direction of the country. Economic pessimism remains high, with 71% rating conditions negatively and 55% saying things are getting worse, though Trump’s long-term economic outlook remains narrowly underwater.
