Vance and Newsom Trade Barbs Over the VP’s Disneyland Vacation as Governor Demands Trump Withdraw Troops
It may be the happiest place on earth, but it’s the epicenter of controversy among a couple of political heavyweights.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) was fighting mad after Vice President JD Vance took a Disneyland family vacation over the weekend, launching several social media attacks against the Republican.
Vance visited the Anaheim resort with his wife, Usha Vance, and their two children.
The family getaway apparently didn’t sit well with Newsom, who took to X to lay into the vice president.
On Saturday, Newsom posted:
JD is back in California. He won’t take the time to debate and defend gutting our Medicaid system, taking away kids school meals, militarizing America’s streets, or adding trillions to the debt. Instead, he’s off to Disneyland. Probably to detain Mickey Mouse at this rate.
Newsom followed up with another post that read: “Hope you enjoy your family time, @JDVance. The families you’re tearing apart certainly won’t.”
“Had a great time, thanks,” Vance fired back in response.
But Newsom wasn’t done.
On Sunday, the governor’s press office posted a rant against Vance’s boss, President Donald Trump, over his appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey Sunday.
The post, later shared by Newsom on his own X account, read:
Trump has time for soccer.
Vance has time for Disneyland.
But neither has time to explain why nearly 5,000 troops are still deployed on American soil.
Send the California National Guard home!
