Jasmine Crockett Insists Republicans Actually Like Her and Tell Her So All the Time Despite Trump’s ‘Low IQ’ Digs

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) insisted that Republicans like her and tell her so all the time and that’s the reason President Donald Trump targets her.

Crockett joined Jim Acosta on The Jim Acosta Show this week and at one point discussed the public jabs Trump has taken against her. Those have included the president calling the progressive Democrat “low IQ” in April, which Crockett responded to by offering to go head-to-head with IQ tests.

“What’s that all about?” Acosta asked after Crockett mentioned the president continually blasting her publicly.

Crockett chalked up Trump’s problems with her to her success on the left in having bipartisan appeal.

I think that he is listening to the polling. Republicans poll all the time. And I have no idea what all is happening in their polling. But I can tell you in real life that I’ve had a number of Republicans that approach me as they see me out, and they say, “Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I really like you. Like, we come from completely different parties, but I believe that you are fighting for the people. I believe that you are trying to do what’s best for all of us. I may disagree with, like, how you feel like we get there, but I agree with your fight.”

Crockett has gotten into some heated exchanges with Republicans over the years, including trading physical insults with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) at a fiery congressional hearing last year. She also received backlash from a number of conservatives after referring to Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) as “hot wheels,” a reference she denied was in relation to him being in a wheelchair.

Crockett argued her appeal is “scary” for Trump and others. Democratic National Committee vice chair David Hogg recently shouted out Crockett as the type of “leader” the Democratic Party should be looking to support.

“I think that that’s what’s scary for them is this idea that it’s not just, say, black folk, that are listening to me, right?” she said. “Or it’s not just, like, super liberal folk. It’s this idea that, you know, people who even aren’t Democrats would actually listen to what I have to say.”
