Joe Rogan Reveals Reason His Hunter Biden Interview Fell Apart

Joe Rogan revealed Hunter Biden was almost a guest on his podcast, but he decided to dump him in favor of a comedian friend.

Podcaster Chris Williamson joined Rogan on Friday’s The Joe Rogan Experience and Rogan revealed he had a plan set for a Hunter Biden appearance on the podcast while discussing Williamson’s own interview with the former president’s son on the Mostly Wise podcast.

Williamson had also invited comedians Matt McCusker and Duncan Trussell on that episode, setting up a roundtable-style discussion that would have been similar to what Rogan was putting together. Rogan said he planned on having Hunter Biden on his Protect Your Park running series, which is a roundtable of Rogan and fellow comedians Shane Gillis, Mark Normand, and Ari Shaffir.

“When you talked to Hunter Biden, did you guys talk about crack?” Rogan asked Williamson.

“All the time,” Williamson said.

“So I told that I was gonna do that and then we didn’t do that and you did it,” Rogan responded.

“I didn’t take the idea. I promise,” Williamson said, revealing his interview with Biden was already booked when Rogan told him about his own interview.

Rogan said he dumped out of his plan when Shaffir said he would do the episode and fly in from London. Biden would have been Shaffir’s replacement on the podcast.

“It doesn’t matter. Some of the guys got upset, like, he took our idea. We were going to do a Protect Our Parks with Hunter Biden, but then Ari — because we thought Ari couldn’t make it, we wanted to do another Protect Our Parks, and Ari was in London… And he was like, I’ll fly back for that and we were like, alright, f*ck Hunter Biden, so we didn’t.”

Rogan later blasted critics who are upset about podcasters, including conservatives like Tucker Carlson, “platforming” Biden.

“It’s interesting that he took a long time out of the public eye, many, many years, and then suddenly he reemerges. Some people are very upset that these conservatives are platforming him,” he said. “They’re criticizing that, but you don’t want hear about what his story’s like? This guy — obviously, he lived a wild life. That’s not interesting?”

WILLIAMSON: He moved?

ROGAN: Yeah. Yeah. And he was like, I’ll fly back for that and we were like, alright, f*ck Hunter Biden, so we didn’t.

WILLIAMSON: It’s just as well. Otherwise you have no fun! Yeah, he talked a lot about crack. Dude, I got to say, he’s so likable. It’s terrifying how likable he is.

ROGAN: Well, you know, I mean he grew up with a politician and, you know, he’s a smart guy.

WILLIAMSON: Maybe. Maybe. I was trying to find the…where’s the manipulative game that’s being played here or whatever…
