‘Start a Podcast’: Charlamagne Hypes Up Kamala Harris Book — But Warns Her About a Second Presidential Run

Charlamagne Tha God expressed excitement over former Vice President Kamala Harris’s future projects, but appeared far less enthused about another presidential run for her.

On Thursday’s The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne responded to news that Harris will not run for governor of California by saying the former vice president should focus on a book and podcast to become a “leader” in the Democratic Party going forward.

“I think Kamala can definitely be a leader in the Democratic Party. And I mean, I think the interesting thing about the former VP is I kind of like that strategy,” the radio host said.

He explained that he appreciated that she is not constantly in the spotlight and has a reason to be there when she is.

“I think now she just gives people the opportunity to get to know her. I don’t think people ever really got the opportunity to get to know her. And if you actually get to know her, you’ll like her,” he said, arguing her short presidential run wasn’t enough to introduce her to the country.

Harris announced on Thursday that she will be releasing a book titled 107 Days about her losing campaign against President Donald Trump.

While Charlamagne talked up Harris and her potential future projects, he appeared less excited about the prospect of her running for president in 2028.

“I don’t know if she should run again, but I definitely would like to see her write a book. I definitely would like to see her start a podcast and just build a real connection with people. And she is relatively young,” he said. “I just don’t know what’s going to happen in 2028, man. I just think Democrats suck so bad. I don’t know.”

In her statement announcing that she will not run for governor of California after consideration, Harris said she would be “helping” to elect Democrats in the future and announcing more personal plans soon.

“I look forward to getting back out and listening to the American people, helping elect Democrats across the nation who will fight fearlessly, and sharing more details in the months ahead about my own plans,” she wrote.
