‘Absolute Morons!’ ESPN’s Mike Greenberg Goes OFF on Critics Blaming Duke Basketball Player for Getting Injured During Court Storming

ESPN’s Mike Greenberg claimed it was the “stupidest among us” that were blaming Duke basketball star Kyle Filipowski for getting injured as fans stormed the court.

The eighth-ranked Blue Devils were upset by unranked Wake Forest on Saturday. Wake Forest fans then stormed the court in celebration. One fan ran directly into Filipowski as he was walking off the court. The collision caused the sophomore forward to fall to the ground. As he fell, another fan appeared to shove him from behind.

Team staff quickly swooped in to escort him off the court. His leg was injured from the collision and he had to be helped into the locker room.

Some people believe that Filipowski — the basketball player that actually belonged on the basketball court — was at fault for the incident.

Greenberg called them out on Monday’s episode of Get Up.

“Let’s address the stupidest among us,” Greenberg said, “the people who are on social media after Caitlin Clark got knocked down or after Kyle Filipowski gets knocked down, blaming them, suggesting that they’re ‘flopping’ or something like that. These are people who belong where they are who are being run into or whatever the case may be, by people who absolutely do not belong where they are… Shut up.

“So if you are one of these absolute morons on social media who are suggesting this was Kyle Filipowski’s fault for ‘instigating’ whatever it is that happened with this kid who went running out onto the court after him, just be aware that you are an idiot and everyone around you knows you are an idiot.”
