Cheez-It Mascot Trolls Viral Pop-Tarts Mascot During Citrus Bowl Introduction

The mascot for Monday’s Cheez-It Citrus Bowl let everyone know that it would not end up like the Pop-Tarts mascot just a few days prior.
On Friday, the Pop-Tarts Bowl became the talk of the college football world thanks to the eccentric mascot. Throughout the game between North Carolina State and Kansas State, the broadcast frequently pointed out the fact that the mascot — a giant Pop-Tart — was “edible” and the winning team would be given the honor of eating it.
Shortly after Kansas State won, the morbid ceremony saw the mascot descend into a giant toaster before an actual giant Pop-Tart appeared at the bottom of it. Then, the team crowded around the pastry and picked it apart.
Thanks to Cheez-It being the sponsor of the Citrus Bowl, college football fans got to enjoy the shenanigans of yet another food-based mascot. Like the Pop-Tarts mascot, the giant Cheez-It began the day by emerging from an equally large Cheez-It box. After taking a moment to dance in front of the crowd, the Cheez-It — whose name is Ched-Z — held up a sign that read, “Non-Edible Mascot.”

Unlike the Pop-Tart, Ched-Z intended on making it out of the stadium that day.
Although the human-size cheese snack was eager to differentiate itself from the pastry, Ched-Z also had a bizarre nature about it. That included force-feeding other people with boxes of its own kind.
The Cheez-It mascot may not want to be eaten, but was happy to pour its fellow Cheez-Its down my throat. A cheesy traitor https://t.co/jzw6eGyiOt pic.twitter.com/QxnrKBXB97
