MADNESS! Stunning NCAA Tournament Upset Sets Social Media Ablaze, as Oral Roberts Pulls Off Shocking Win Over Ohio State
March Madness is already living up to its reputation.
On Friday afternoon, #15-seed Oral Roberts University pulled out a hard-fought overtime victory of #2-seed Ohio State, 75 – 72, as the Golden Eagles nailed a series of clutch free throws down the stretch and the Buckeyes’ poor three-point shooting clinched the stunning upset.
Oral Roberts joins just eight other #15-seeds in NCAA men’s basketball history who have beaten the long odds. The last time a #2-seed lost in the first game of the tourney was back in 2016, when Middle Tennessee St. shocked Michigan State.
The Golden Eagles will move on and are now set to face #7-seed Florida, who defeated #10-seed Virginia tech 75 – 70. The Buckeyes of course, are going nowhere else but home.
