NFL Network Host Begins Wheel of Fortune Appearance by Professing His Love for Vanna White: ‘You Were the Puzzle I Wanted to Solve’
NFL Network host Kyle Brandt took advantage of his time on Wheel of Fortune to let co-host Vanna White know she was his childhood crush. He even threw in one incredibly cheesy line.
Brandt — co-host of Good Morning Football — appeared on Wednesday’s episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune with comedians Natasha Leggero and Roy Wood Jr. During introductions, co-host Pat Sajak mentioned that Brandt was a big fan of White and gave him the floor.
“Pat, I’m thrilled to meet you,” Brandt said, “but Vanna, let’s just put the cards on the table. I say this respectfully: you’re a TV legend. My wife is here. You were my boyhood crush. I loved you for many years of my life. You were the puzzle I wanted to solve, and I’m so thrilled to be here.
“Do you have any advice for me today, Vanna? Because I believe you control the board. I love you, Pat. To me, this is a Vanna show.”
White thanked Brandt for the kind words and encouraged him to buy vowels and “pretend like you’re in your own living room.” She also advised him to try focusing on the puzzle board and “not me.”
Sajak was floored by Brandt’s line.
“‘You were the puzzle I wanted to solve’?” Sajak said. “This is your line, Kyle?”
Brandt assured him it wasn’t planned.
“It just came out,” he said. “I didn’t know that moment would happen. It just came out. Did I hit ‘bankrupt’ on that, Pat?”
