Protesters Arrested After Delaying College Football Game

Protesters staged a sit-in on the field of the USC Trojans vs the California Golden Bears football game on Saturday, briefly delaying the game.

The protesters were eventually handcuffed and arrested by officials. “According to a statement released by the Cal police department, the people were protesting the suspension of a professor. The protesters, many wearing T-shirts that read ‘Justice for Ivonne,’ sat back-to-back in the middle of the Cal logo,” reported the Associated Press of the incident.

The AP added, “Ivonne del Valle, a Spanish and Portuguese professor, was recently suspended by the university for allegedly stalking and harassing a professor from another school.”

Editor’s Note: This article has been corrected to accurately reflect the purpose of the protest after erroneously reporting the protest was about the Israel-Hamas War. We very much regret the error.
