‘This Game Is Out of Hand’: TNT Cuts Away from Bucks-Celtics Blowout – Before Switching Back

A highly anticipated Eastern Conference matchup between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks quickly turned into a clunker of a game. The Bucks led 41-23 after the first quarter and 75-38 at the half. in the third, the Celtics trailed by as much as 43 points.

To say the Celtics looked flat the night after defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime is an understatement. Despite starting all their star players, the Celtics got absolutely rolled in a battle of the two top teams in the conference.

Upon the conclusion of a commercial break during the third quarter, viewers were greeted by Ernie Johnson for a game break.

“It’s a game break from Studio J here in Atlanta,” he said. “So, this game is out of hand, obviously. 100-62 is the score in Milwaukee. The Celtics, resting the rest of their starters for the rest of the night.”

Johnson said the network planned to cut to the Oklahoma City game, but the Thunder’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers was also a blowout.

“So we’re thinking, let’s see what else is going on in the league, and Oklahoma City, by the way, is up 36 at the half,” Johnson continued. “So, we’re not going there. So we’ll try the Knicks and the Mavs. And it’s uh, a 47-28 game, but it’s closer than what’s going on in the mean streets. Here’s Mark Followill and Devin Harris.”

Later, however, TNT switched back to Celtics-Bucks, though Boston remained well behind. Ultimately, Milwaukee prevailed 135-102.
