Tom Brady admitted he regrets participating in a 2024 Netflix roast, saying it was a “fuck up” as a parent.
Brady joined Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast this week and opened up about The Roast of Tom Brady and the multiple shots people took during the popular broadcast about his recent divorce with Gisele Bündchen.
“It was tough on my kids, for sure,” the former quarterback said. “I went in there — you don’t know what to expect. I love laughing at myself, it felt like I was in the locker room. And the harder people go at me, I’ll actually love it. If people make fun of you, then I know that I’m good with them. I don’t take myself too serious. But I do understand for my kids, it was really hard.”
Brady added there are “some things as a parent you fuck up and you don’t realize until after,” according to a clip posted by TMZ Sports.
“You’ll see as you grow up, there’s no perfect manual for it. You gotta evaluate yourself as a parent, too, all the time,” Brady said, going on to praise the performances at the roast as “incredible” despite his regrets now.
The sports broadcaster said, “You live and learn” about his thoughts on the roast today.
“They’re protective of their mom, of their dad, of everybody,” he said about his kids. “They’re like, ‘What was the point of that? Why did you do that?’ You live and you learn.”
Brady shares two children with Bündchen.
Comedian Nikki Glaser admitted after the roast that she would apologize to Bündchen about a joke she made.
“Tom Brady, five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns, you have seven rings — well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back,” she said during her set.
The comedian said Brady’s ex-wife was “not happy” with some jokes from the roast.
“I mentioned her in a joke, which I did question because she wasn’t there, and it’s like, ‘she’s not asking for this.’ But then I remembered that she’s the hottest person in the world, and I go, ‘She can probably handle it,'” Glaser said.
