Ex-MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer revealed on Tuesday that one of his accusers has been charged with fraud as he awaits an opportunity to return to the league.

Bauer has been out of the league since a woman named Lindsey Hill accused him of sexual assault in 2021. Another woman followed suit.

Though he’s continually maintained his innocence, Bauer was suspended by the MLB for 194 games. He’s been reinstated by the league but no team has chose to sign him.

The 33-year-old filed a defamation suit against Hill, and she filed a countersuit in response. In October 2023, Bauer announced he had reached a settlement with her and revealed incriminating messages and photos from Hill that he claimed prove his innocence.

On Tuesday, Bauer posted a similar video online detailing the timeline of events with the second woman — Darcy Adanna Esemonu. She was indicted by a grand jury in Arizona on “felony charges of fraudulent schemes and theft by extortion.”

The star pitcher claimed her accusations were “even more absurd” than Hill’s. While he acknowledged the two did have a sexual encounter in 2020, he stressed that she “initiated” it and revealed multiple messages to back up that claim.

At one point, Bauer continued. Esemonu demanded more than $3.6 million for forcing her to have an abortion. Medical records, however, state that Esemonu was never pregnant following their encounter. When he refused, she filed a civil suit against him for assault.

“At this point, I’m not sure what else I can possibly do to prove my innocence in all this,” Bauer said. “I did not do what I was accused of; and every institution that our society has entrusted to rule on issues like these — like courts, judges, law enforcement officers, prosecutors — they all agree with me. They’ve rejected every single claim made against me, even going as far as charging one of my accusers with a felony.

“If any evidence of any of these claims actually existed, I would have been charged or, at the very least, arrested; but that never happened. What else do I have to do to prove that this entire situation’s been a massive lie? This is insane! At what point do I get to go back to work and continue earning a living?”
