WATCH: Manchester United Scores Goal So Spectacular The Announcer Says Opposing Fans Should Applaud It

Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho scored a stunning goal on Sunday at Everton, sending the announcers (and social media) into overdrive and prompting one announcer to say even the opposing fans at the Premier League match should applaud it (and at least one opposing player actually did.)

NBC Sports shared the incredible goal by the 19-year-old winger and amazed reactions shortly after the moment play-by-play announcer Peter Drury called “special beyond special” happened.

“How has he plucked that one out,” exclaimed a stunned Drury.

“Well the move was good enough for the finish,” replied announcer Lee Dixon. “Every one of these Everton fans — not going to happen — should be applauding that. Because they won’t see a goal at Goodison Park like that for a long, long time.”

“That is world class, absolutely world class,” said Dixon.

The broadcasters weren’t the only ones besides themselves. On X (formerly Twitter), the reactions were equally as hype – including some praise for the announcers. Even Everton’s James Tarkowski called the goal “an absolute worldie.”

United would go on to win the match against Everton 3-0.
