40-Year-Old JD Vance Tells Rally-Goers, ‘Donald Trump Is Healthier Than I Am’

Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), who turned 40 in August, claimed on Wednesday during a rally in Nevada that 78-year-old former President Donald Trump is “healthier” than he is.

The Republican Party’s vice presidential nominee addressed supporters in Reno when he attacked the media and championed Trump as a man of virtue.

“We want Donald J. Trump because he’s courage under fire and that’s an underrated quality by our media,” Vance said. “Donald Trump has it in spades. It’s why he did such a good job the first time and will do a very good job the second time, too.

Vance added he would be ready on day one and asked his audience to ignore the media on whether he and Trump are capable of leading the country.

“First of all, the question is not whether the media says I’m ready,” he said. “The question is whether the American people do. They are the ones that determine a president and the vice president, and I’m proud to be an outsider to American politics.”

The Ohio Republican then touted his record as a lawmaker and businessman before he claimed Trump is healthier than he is:

I’ve been a United States senator and I’ve been a businessman who’s created jobs. I was a United States Marine who served my country and went to Iraq when I was asked. I’ve got something we have spades in this room and we cordially have this room had won for surely have known of in the White House, which is common sense. That’s what we see in American leaders. Look, I try to be a humble guy.

I think the presidency is such a big job. I feel extremely confident, I mean, hell, Donald Trump is healthier than I am. I feel extremely confident that Donald Trump is going to serve and serve well for four years for the American people and I’m going to help him. We are going to make America great again and we are going to do it together.
