Anthony Scaramucci Urges Dems To Bring ‘Lifelong Democrat’ Elon Musk ‘Back in the Tent’ After Trump Tariff Split

Anthony Scaramucci advised Democrats to bring Elon Musk “back in the tent” after the billionaire split with President Donald Trump on tariffs.

Scaramucci joined CNN’s Pamela Brown on The Situation Room on Tuesday and claimed Musk is “too smart” for the administration he’s been closely advising through his work with DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency).

Musk has taken multiple public shots at Trump trade advisor Peter Navarro over the administration’s tariff policy and the X owner and he argued for a “zero tariff situation” between the United States and the European Union.

“At the end of the day, I hope it’s agreed that both Europe and the United States should move ideally, in my view, to a zero-tariff situation, effectively creating a free-trade zone between Europe and North America,” Musk said earlier this week.

“Frankly, he’s just too smart for these people. He knows that this tariff strategy is nonsensical. It’s not only bad for his businesses, but it’s bad for the business of America, and it’s bad for everyday people in America,” Scaramucci said in reaction to Musk’s comments, adding that he expects Musk to be “departing” his administration role shortly.

Scaramucci, who infamously was the White House communications director for less than two weeks during Trump’s first term, argued Democrats have an opportunity to stop shunning Musk and invited “back in the tent.” Musk has said he voted Democrat in the past, but in 2022 he declared he was voting Republican because Democrats have become the “party of division and hate.” He would go on to endorse Trump and throw financial support behind his campaign.

Musk, Scaramucci declared, is more part of the Democratic “family.”

He said:

I have a message for my Democratic friends bring him back in the tent. Okay. He’s been a lifelong Democrat. You guys didn’t invite him to the electrical vehicle summit. You shunned him in the last administration, but he’s really part of your family. Bring him back into the tent. As Lyndon Johnson said, you want him inside the tent as opposed to doing things outside the tent that you don’t want him doing. So that would be my message to Democrats.
