‘Are You Guys Crazy?!’ Fox’s Lawrence Jones Bashes WNBA for ‘Shameful’ Treatment of Sophie Cunningham

Fox News host Lawrence Jones absolutely torched the WNBA for failing to back up one of its most notable players in a steamed rant about men playing in women’s sports.

During a discussion about Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham and her stance against men in women’s sports on Monday morning’s Fox & Friends, the curvy couch spoke out against Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve.

On Sunday, Reeve took a not-so-subtle shot at Cunningham by donning a T-shirt blaring a “Trans Kids Belong” message as her team took on the Indiana Fever.

Upon hearing that Reeve told reporters after the game that she and Cunningham agree that “both of us understand we have platforms,” and, “We both talked about wanting to more than anything, educate,” Jones was peeved.

“This is such an idiotic response to the debate to say that the other side that want men to stay in their lane, which if they want to play in a professional league, play in the NBA, to say that we don’t care about kids existing,” he said.

Jones went on:

This is how they try to emotionally manipulate. All of us want kids to be protected. All of us that to happen, but there are biological differences that we used to acknowledge. And, I mean, honestly, us as men, we really don’t have to say much on this issue. Because, it’s not like the NFL is going to be affected. It’s not like the NBA is gonna be affected. It is women’s sports that is going to be impacted. And I would just think that the people that are on there because they wanted their own separate league so could be able to play fairly, would want to protect their own institution. But it seems like they don’t want to do that. And when you see a guy that is auditioning and makes the team, I wonder if that would shape them into what these high school students have been going through the last few years.

Later, Jones said that Cunningham is the only WNBA player speaking out on the issue.

“Just so we’re clear here on the WNBA, Sophie’s alone. She’s alone right now.”

When Earhardt pointed out that others probably feel the same as Cunningham but don’t speak out, Jones launched into another tirade:

That’s even worse. You’re going to allow one of young colleagues that’s trying to protect all of you guys as if it’s a controversial point of view to say that the men should play in the women’s league and the women should play in the women’s league. And right now all the attention and scrutiny — they’re gonna try to suppress her. Thank God that her advertising is going up and many people are backing her right now, but she’s essentially the only person in the WNBA saying that there should be fairness there. I mean, are you guys crazy?!

Do you understand what’s gonna to happen to your league? The NBA already subsidizes the WNBA already, right? So the league was on its heels. They’re trying to get rid of Caitlin ,who has been a generational talent, has brought more eyeballs on there. The moment that guys walk onto the practice field and started competing there, the sport is going to be done. No one is gonna watch. I just don’t understand the end goal of these women right here, because if they are saying that this is OK, then don’t be surprised next season when you see dudes come up on at the practice facility and say, “I want to try out for the team.”

Because ya’ll guys have said it’s OK. You’re letting this young woman stand out there alone and she’s trying to protect all of you guys. I just think that’s shameful.
