Boston Cop’s Alleged Terrorist Son: ISIS Is ‘Doing a Good Thing’
The Monday after the July 4th weekend, federal authorities revealed they had arrested the 23-year-old son of a Boston Police captain. Why? Oh, nothing much — only because Alexander Ciccolo bought firearms from an undercover FBI agent with the intent to use them in a larger terrorist plot. Like, Boston Marathon bombing-level terrorism or greater.
Ciccolo appeared in court on Tuesday, during which time video from his interrogation hours after his arrest was played. The authorities have since published them online for all to see, though they did blot out Ciccolo’s face for fear of his becoming an American figurehead for ISIS. Why the concern? When asked whether or not he saw ISIS as a “good thing,” the young man responded:
“Yeah. Yeah they are,” Ciccolo responds. “They’re doing a good thing.”
“What part of what they’re doing is good?” the agent asks.
“They’re implementing the Sharia [Islamic law]. They’re freeing people from oppression,” Ciccolo says.
It’s a fairly damning set of video clips. However, we can’t help but wonder whether or not ABC News correspondent Brian Ross, who filed the report, struggled not to scratch his blame-the-Tea-Party itch.
