Brett Kavanaugh Denies Latest Allegation in New Yorker Report: ‘It Would’ve Been the Talk of Campus’

Fox News’ Martha MacCallum asked Brett Kavanaugh tonight about not just the allegation of sexual assault by Christine Blasey Ford, but the new report in The New Yorker on an allegation from Deborah Ramirez.

MacCallum read what Deborah Ramirez told Ronan Farrow and Jane Mayer:

She remembers Kavanaugh standing to her right and laughing, pulling up his pants. “Brett was laughing,” she said. “I can still see his face, and his hips coming forward, like when you pull up your pants.” She recalled another male student shouting about the incident. “Somebody yelled down the hall, ‘Brett Kavanaugh just put his penis in Debbie’s face,’ ” she said. “It was his full name. I don’t think it was just ‘Brett.’ And I remember hearing and being mortified that this was out there.”

She noted to Kavanaugh that Ramirez was “initially uncertain it was you” but then said days later she was confident enough in her story.

“Should the American people view her as credible?” MacCallum asked.

“I never did any such thing,” Kavanaugh responded. “The other people alleged to be there don’t recall any such thing. If such as thing had a happened, it would’ve been the talk of campus. The women I knew in college and the men I knew in college said that it’s unconceivable that I could’ve done such a thing.”

MacCallum asked him if he’s surprised the New Yorker ran the story. He declined to comment on their “journalistic practices,” but noted that “the New York Times said they could not corroborate this story and said that the person making the accusation had been calling around last week to other classmates, indicating her uncertainty about whether I had ever done such a thing.”
