CNN: All Shots ‘Fired By Law Enforcement,’ ‘No Shots Fired’ By Suspect

On Thursday afternoon, CNN reporter Deborah Feyerick reported that the suspect who was reportedly engaged in a shootout with police did not fire any shots. The incident which promoted the White House and the U.S. Capitol Building to go into lockdown resulted from a car chase. However, as CNN reports, no shots were fired by the suspect.

The gunfire was apparently prompted by the suspect’s car impacting a police cruiser. The impact forced the cruiser’s airbags to deploy which prompted police to open fire on the suspect.

“We’re now being told that the shots were from law enforcement, that there were no shots fired from the black vehicle,” Feyerick reported, “that all the shots were to the driver’s side, fired by law enforcement.
