CNN Guest Says Trump Acts Like a Guy ‘From the Memory Wing of a Nursing Home’: ‘He’s Slurring’
Podcast host Jennifer Welch expressed concern over President Donald Trump’s cognitive health on CNN, Wednesday, likening the president to “a guy who got a day pass from the memory wing of a nursing home.”
Reacting on CNN NewsNight to Trump’s repeated threats to thrust the United States into Israel’s conflict with Iran, Welch complained, “We went from his big break up with Elon Musk to his lackluster turnout to his birthday party, now we’re on this, and it’s just crisis after crisis and crisis in this man.”
She continued:
I have no faith in it all because he acts like a guy who got a day pass from the memory wing of a nursing home. I mean, when you see him on TV, he’s slurring, he’s not competent. It is just terrifying when you see the chyron that says, “Trump is reviewing war plans,” and as we’re all sitting here do we think that man is competent enough to review war plans when Pete Hegseth is his– you know what I mean?
In October, former Trump aide Omarosa Manigault Newman also raised concerns over Trump’s supposed mental “decline” and claimed the president “dictated” the letters his doctors wrote declaring that he was in good health.
“Donald Trump dictated the letters that went out about his medical history, but doctors weren’t free to write what they want,” she claimed in an interview with CNN. “Donald Trump dictated it for every single doctor from his original doctrine, 2015 to [medical advisor] Ronny Jackson to the doctors that came on after that. The one thing about Donald Trump is that you will never see the truth about his weight, about his health.”
After Trump’s doctor released a glowing medical report in April, New York Times White House correspondent Maggie Haberman remarked that it “read like Trump had written it.”
