CNN’s Abby Phillip Roasts Jesse Watters’ DOGE Flip-Flop With Brutal Supercut: ‘DOGE for Thee, But Not for Me??’
CNN host Abby Phillip slammed Fox News host Jesse Watters as the “king of callousness” after his on-air plea to President Donald Trump to spare his veteran friend from DOGE’s Pentagon cuts, running a supercut of the conservative cheering on mass lay-offs.
Watters made the appeal on Wednesday’s The Five after his friend, a 20-year veteran who started work at the Pentagon months ago, contacted him to say he’d lose his job. The department had reportedly provided the Trump administration with a list of probationary employees who could be targeted in the next wave of federal workforce reductions.
The Fox News host asked the Trump administration to be “less callous” when implementing when laying off federal employees, arguing that military veterans should be safeguarded.
On Thursday’s CNN NewsNight, however, Phillip was finding Watters’ demand a little ironic, branding him the “king of callousness” before running a supercut of him celebrating DOGE initiated mass lay-offs of federal employees.
“DOGE for thee, but not for me?” Phillip mused as the reel ended.
“The leopard eats Jesse Watters face,” joked panelist and Democratic strategist and former Fox News contributor Julie Roginsky.
