Drag Queen Channels ‘Legally Blonde’ To Celebrate Libel Win Over Laurence Fox in Sky News Interview

Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK star Crystal flaunted her libel court victory against actor-turned-activist Laurence Fox Tuesday by dressing up as Legally Blonde’s Elle Woods for a Sky News interview.

Crystal, also known as Colin Seymour, appeared for her interview with a blonde wig and baby pink outfit, in honour of Reese Witherspoon’s character in the film. Woods, a student at Harvard Law School, ends up winning a high-profile murder case while facing challenges and stereotypes and proving her intelligence and determination.

“Giving them Legally Blonde at 7AM #crystalwillsueyounow,” she wrote on X after her interview.

Fox, founder of the Reclaim Party and ex-GB News host, was successfully sued Monday by Seymour and Simon Blake, former trustee at LGBTQ+ rights charity Stonewall.

The case was sparked by Fox’s objection to Sainsbury’s decision to create a safe space for black employees. He accused the supermarket of promoting racial segregation, leading him to be labelled racist by Blake and Seymour.

Fox retaliated by calling Blake, Seymour, and broadcaster Nicola Thorp “paedophiles.” This led to the libel action, with Fox counter-suing after being branded a racist.

Speaking to Sky News, Seymour reflected on the court victory as “incredibly liberating and satisfying after three long years.”

“I think if I’d known at the outset that it was going to be three and a half years later and we’d still be talking about this I may have thought twice,” Seymour said.

Seymour continued: “But he’s a bully, and accusations of paedophilia against people in the queer community, against drag queens, are old, old tropes and I didn’t want to stand for it and let that slide. It honestly felt that if I didn’t pursue this to the very end it would be a tacit admission. I needed to see it through and make it clear that this had no basis in fact.”

Crystal’s choice of dress was not lost on viewers, including Vice News UK’s editor-in-chief Zing Tsjeng, who took to X to celebrate the look:

After the result, Fox blasted the court as a “burger” and vowed to appeal. He argued that being labelled a racist was “career-ending.” He claimed this accusation led to a significant decline in his acting career, that he lost roles in Succession and with Disney as a result, enduring financial losses and personal distress.
