‘He Hates You’: Jesse Watters Tries Baiting James Carville into Bashing Democratic Senate Candidate
Jesse Watters attempted to bait Democratic strategist James Carville into bashing a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate on Monday’s Jesse Watters Primetime on Fox News.
Carville had backed Rep. Haley Stevens in the Democratic primary in Michigan, but she was defeated by Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, who was outspent nine-to-one, thanks in large part to more than $30 million in ad buys by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
Appearing on Fox News, Carville insisted that the recent spate of Democratic primary wins by members of the Democratic Socialists of America is not indicative of where the party is at. He also defended Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), stating that she has matured as a politician since she was first elected to the House in 2018. Watters had noted AOC’s previous use of the phrase “people who menstruate.”
“Look, there was a place where part of the country went crazy in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022,” Carville said. “I told them they were crazy. And to her credit, she doesn’t talk like that anymore. Good, you’ve grown. We like that. You’re moving in the right direction. And that’s always a good thing.”
“Ok, is the rest of your party moving in the right direction?” Watters said, before referencing California Governor Gavin Newsom’s (D) meeting with El-Sayed. “We saw Gavin Newsom fly to Michigan to kiss this guy’s ring. This guy Abdul, who calls you names, Carville. He hates you.”
“So what?” Carville shot back. “They don’t like me. I don’t dislike them.”
Last week, Carville made clear he supports El-Sayed in the general election against former Rep. Mike Rogers (R).
“…[W]hen I look at him and I look at Mike Rogers, who’s a lackey for the entire pharmaceutical industry, who is an election denier, then I’m gonna take El-Sayed every time,” he said. “Would I take him in a vacuum? Probably not, but against a clown like Rogers, who is an election denier running for the United States in the year 2026, who has never at once opposed the interests of Big Pharma. Yeah, I’m gonna be for El-Sayed.”
