Host Jimmy Fallon Reprises ‘Pat Sullivan’ Character On SNL

It’s fitting that Jimmy Fallon would return to Saturday Night Live to host a Christmas episode, and also fitting that he was joined by fellow alum Rachel Dratch to reprise his Pat Sullivan character, with Dratch playing his girlfriend Denise. They were trying to crash their old high school’s winter formal, which was difficult as their student IDs put Fallon at fourteen and Dratch at…whatever age you have to be to work as an assistant high school principal.

Dratch and Fallon hauled out their best “Baaaahston” accents and made out furiously within thirty seconds of the cold open’s beginning. As they waited in line they were joined by Amy Poehler, playing another former classmate whose case of mono just turned fifteen that year, if you know what I mean. It was fun to reprise old characters and see the rapport between the former castmembers. It was also fun to listen to Taran Killam say “Do you want to pahhty with us? It would be an honor to let you in the back door.” Yes, I’m twelve.
