New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani (D) is heading straight into the lion’s den.
The Democratic frontrunner will sit down with longtime Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum on Wednesday for an interview that will air at 3 p.m. ET on The Story with Martha MacCallum, according to a network press release.
The sit-down will air with just three weeks to go until New Yorkers head to the polls.
A recent Quinnipiac poll shows Mamdani as the clear leader in the race, 13 points above disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo — who already lost to Mamdani in the Democratic primary and is staying in the race as an independent.
Rounding out the race is Republican and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, who got the supporter of 15 percent of New Yorkers in the Quinnipiac poll.
Incumbent Mayor Eric Adams dropped out of the race last month.
Fox’s opinion shows have been notably critical of the self-professed “Democratic socialist” over the last few months, repeatedly jabbing him for embracing far-left economic policies and refusing to disavow inflammatory rhetoric about Israel.
Mamdani’s candidacy has also attracted the ire of President Donald Trump, who has nicknamed him “my little communist,” and threatened to yank federal funding from the Big Apple after Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) endorsed him.
