Now John Kasich Says He Won’t Attend Fox Debate If Trump Doesn’t

trumpkasichdebatescreen-e1453221876996-1-650x436Following Donald Trump‘s announcement Wednesday morning that he would not attend the upcoming Republican debate on Fox next Monday, John Kasich‘s campaign has released a statement saying that the Ohio governor will sit it out also.

“If [Trump] changes his mind,” a campaign strategist said, “we will be there.”

While the dates for most of the primary debates were set months in advance, the upcoming debate, which is scheduled to take place in Salt Lake City, was only announced on Monday. It is to be moderated by Fox stalwarts Bret Baier, Chris Wallace, and Megyn Kelly — whose challenging questions to Trump have been one of the objects of Trump’s intermittent feud with the network.

Trump broke the news on Fox & Friends Wednesday morning, citing a prior commitment to give a speech to “eight or nine thousand people,” and accusing the network of only holding the debate to drum up ratings. “Haven’t we had enough?” he asked.
