Lara Trump Refuses to Rule Out Nikki Haley as Father-in-Law’s Running Mate: ‘Never Say Never’

Former President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, refused to rule out the idea of Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley becoming her father-in-law’s running mate on Monday.

During an appearance on Newsmax’s The Balance, Trump told host Eric Bolling, “I think Nikki Haley has to be a little careful in South Carolina. That’s her home state. Probably Donald Trump is going to win in South Carolina and Nikki Haley’s gonna come in second.”

Asked for her thoughts on a Trump-Vivek Ramaswamy ticket in 2024, Trump laughed and said, “There’s a lot of talk about a lot of people. There’s Trump-Tucker Carlson talk, there’s obviously Trump-Vivek talk, there’s– yeah. I thought you were gonna say Trump-Chris Christie talk, which you’d have a better chance of Joe Biden running with Donald Trump than Chris Christie at this point.”

After Bolling asked, “Would he ever pick Nikki Haley?” Trump replied, “Crazier things have happened. I don’t know. I would never say never with Donald J. Trump. Never say never.”

Republican politician Kari Lake — who is reportedly on Trump’s shortlist for running mate herself — also refused to rule out Haley being given a position in a second Trump administration.

After Bolling asked Lake, “Is there a job for, say, Nikki Haley in a Trump administration?” Lake responded, “I would guess the sooner she gets out, the more likely that would happen, but I don’t know about that.”

According to RealClearPolitics’ polling average, Haley is just 0.2% away from tying with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for second place in the 2024 Republican primary.
