Matthew McConaughey In ​SNL​ Promos: I Torture ‘Lawbreakers’

NBC just released the latest promo reel for the upcoming Saturday Night Live, featuring host Matthew McConaughey and cast member Kate McKinnon.

The two begin the segment with a call center gag, which imagines a world in which SNL must call potential viewers in order to guarantee their eyeballs for Saturday night. One would assume this wouldn’t be necessary, especially since McConaughey is hosting and the musical guest is Adele. But since it’s a Donald Trump-less episode, the ratings probably won’t be great — hence the phones. (At least McConaughey didn’t have to complain to NBC about airtime.)

The rest of the reel consists of shorter 15-second bits, including the inevitable oh-hey-weren’t-you-in-Magic–Mike? gag.

McKinnon jokes that she hopes there aren’t any “lawbreakers” in the audience: “I know what you do to lawbreakers.”

“Torture ’em,” says McConaughey, thinking was talking about his film Killer Joe instead.
