Monday Ratings: MSNBC’s Matthews Beats CNN’s Burnett In Demo And Total Viewers

Monday evening, during the 7 p.m. hour, MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews beat CNN’s OutFront with Erin Burnett in both the age 25-54 demo and total viewership. In the demo, Matthews racked up 261k viewers, nearly tripling Burnett’s 92k showing. In total viewership, Matthews more than tripled Burnett by scoring 984k total viewers versus Burnett’s 270k.

In addition, last week (July 30 – August 5) marked a 20-year weekly low in primetime for CNN in both the demo and total viewers.

It should be noted that due to the 2012 Summer Olympics, all cable network programming has experienced a decline in total viewership.
