Mike Huckabee Trashes Oscar Winner for Pushing Claim Israel ‘Benefits’ From Spain’s Huge Migrant Influx

Mike Huckabee slammed Hollywood star Javier Bardem for pushing the claim that Israel “benefits” from last week’s mass migrant crossings into Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta, branding the claim “ridiculous” and warning the actor to “stick to” reading other people’s scripts.

The U.S. ambassador to Israel was responding after host Piers Morgan raised an Instagram post shared by the Oscar-winning Spanish actor at the start of his interview on Monday’s Piers Morgan Uncensored.

Bardem’s Instagram post pushed back against MAGA pundits’ descriptions of the crossings as an “invasion” of Europe, after tens of thousands of Moroccans overwhelmed the borders on Friday.

The text in the post, written by author Miranda Vidak and shared by Bardem, claimed Israel would benefit politically from “a weakened, destabilized Spain” which has been among Europe’s most outspoken critics of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.

Bardem himself has also been a critic of Israel’s campaign.

Morgan asked Huckabee about Bardem’s decision to reshare the post.

“It sounds like Javier needs to stick to reading a script that someone else wrote. He’s not very good at coming up with his own ideas,” the ambassador replied. “That’s ridiculous. To say that somehow this is a U.S.-Israel conspiracy and that’s why all those young men flooded to the coast, it’s nonsense.”

“I don’t know what’s next. Israel and the U.S. are gonna be accused of the joint kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby back in the [19]20s. Maybe the downing of the Hindenburg?” Huckabee mocked. “Where does this stop?”

Asked by Morgan who he believed was responsible for orchestrating the migrant crossings, Huckabee declined to speculate.

“Honestly, Piers, I wouldn’t have a theory because I think it’s really ridiculous for me or, frankly, anyone else who doesn’t have any facts about why they came to just suddenly invent something,” he said.

He added: “The U.S. and Israel both have plenty on their plates right now. Neither country needs to be inventing some ridiculous conspiracy theory, or more importantly, actually orchestrating the moving of almost 50,000 people from one place to the other.”

He added: “Really, they need to get a better kind of argument because that one simply falls apart.”
