‘No Way Could Anybody Be That Moronic!’ Colby Hall Rips JD Vance’s Bizarre Travis-Taylor Ref Conspiracy

Mediaite founding editor Colby Hall torched Vice President JD Vance on Friday for pushing a conspiracy theory involving Taylor Swift and the NFL.

Two days earlier, Vance commented on the recent engagement between Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. In an interview with USA Today, Vance — a Cincinnati Bengals fan — pleaded for the NFL not to show any favoritism toward the Chiefs now that one of the team’s biggest stars is planning to marry one of the biggest stars on the planet.

Since the couple went public with their relationship, Swift has been a regular sight at Chiefs games. As a result, NFL broadcasts have made it a habit to cut to shots of her reacting to big moments — much to the annoyance of some football fans. As noted by Fox’s Colin Cowherd, however, the Swift exposure has been minimal at best.

Speaking Friday on NewsNation, Hall called the vice president’s comments “moronic.”

“As for vice president, I had to look up this clip to make sure that he wasn’t joking,” Hall said, “because I thought, no way could anyone be that moronic; and yet, JD Vance throwing conspiracies — that the NFL is going to give the Chiefs better calls — I’m sorry, that’s bizarre. What is his obsession with conspiracies?”

Hall also argued that Vance’s comments could come with serious consequences in 2028.

“And I’ll tell you, if he’s going to run in 2028, he just did serious damage to the Chief’s Kingdom,” Hall continued. “Chief’s Kingdom, they vote, and they’re not going to be pleased with this shade that JD Vance threw. By the way, he was serious! So, you know, I’m upset with JD Vance. He knows better.”
