Obama’s Presidential Seal Falls Off During Speech

Tonight on his “Oddball” segment on Countdown, Keith Olbermann took a look at the strangest moment from President Barack Obama’s speech today – the Presidential Seal falling off his podium in the middle of his address.

Speaking to the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit tonight, a thud was suddenly heard, followed by laughter around the room. Sure enough, it was the seal hitting the ground. Obama, though he noted whoever was responsible must have been “sweating bullets,” shrugged off the incident because “all of you know who I am.” CBS’ Mark Knoller later shared in a tweet exactly who would be sweating those bullets:

Placing the Presidential Seal on the lectern is the responsibility of WHCA: the White House Communications Agency.

Olbermann, for his part, offered “$2 to the first conservative who says that’s some sort of sign from God.” Video of the moment below.
