Someone Actually Asked About ‘Creepy Clowns’ at White House Press Conference
During a Tuesday press conference, White House press secretary Josh Earnest was asked about the president’s stance on the rash of creepy clown sightings across the country.
“Our friends at The Times reported that these sort of sightings have led to more than a dozen arrests and some local law enforcement agencies are asking FBI and DHS what to do about creepy clowns. So I’m wondering if the president is aware of this,” asked Bloomberg’s Justin Sink.
Earnest responded that he didn’t know if Obama has been briefed on the clown situation. “This is something that I have read about in the news coverage. Obviously this is a situation that local law enforcement authorities take quite seriously, and they should carefully and thoroughly review the perceived threats to the safety of the community,” he said.
“I can’t speak to any advice they may have received from law enforcement officials at the federal level,” Earnest said, “but you can check with my colleagues at the FBI and DHS and see what they have to say about it.”
