‘That’s Disgusting!’ Harris Faulkner Blasts End of Trump Trials Following Election — Ignoring Trump Himself Would Probably End Them

Harris Faulkner was disgusted by the idea that former President Donald Trump’s criminal trials would come to a screeching halt post-election day but failed to note that Trump himself would likely end them.

The Fox News host/anchor asked her panel, including former Acting AG under Trump, Matt Whitaker, and former GOP Congressman Sean Duffy, what to make of the various cases — as the hush money-election interference trial stopped for a morning break.

As the conversation concluded, Faulkner framed the criminal trials as a “political weapon” and asked Duffy if they were no longer valuable to the left, “Will they go away?”

“If he loses, I don’t think Joe Biden has a vested interest in seeing Donald Trump convicted,” Duffy replied. “So, again, I think as the election wraps up, these cases against Donald Trump are not going anywhere.”

“Wow. That that puts even a darker shade like the original meaning of schadenfreude,” Faulkner replied. “I mean, this looks shady. Then if they don’t continue with justice, as they say that thereafter, the minute that the politics don’t matter anymore. I mean, if it’s really that transparent, that’s disgusting for the country. Like we can’t have a legal system that works like that, but that’s completely broken.”

What Faulkner did not mention is that the investigations led by Special Counsel Jack Smith would almost certainly end if Trump were to regain the White House and order the DOJ to kill them. So, yeah, shady as hell. But not at all for the reasons Faulkner misleadingly suggests.

Whitaker: Yeah. And on on the Florida documents case, these cases, if you’ve done them and I have as a U.S. attorney or a CPA, is a very complicated process to go through. What classified information will be admitted at trial and make sure, you know, that what’s excluded and what’s included. So that’s going to be a serious, serious process for Judge Cannon. But the really important, or is she is taking up the motion for selective prosecution, among many other motions, which is going to suggest that Joe Biden and Mike pence and others have had a past from similar behaviors. And why are they going after Donald Trump? That’s going to be a fascinating discussion in that courthouse when that happens.

Faulkner: Yeah. You point out if it ever happens. I mean, are you are you saying and and Sean, I, I kind of got this from you too. If we get to November and this is no longer the political weapon for anybody on the left, does it go away?

Duffy: If that’s to me. Listen, I do think it goes away. These cases, you stack them up and they’re incredibly weak. So once the election is over, again, Fani Willis, whether that case goes forward or not, I think after the election, the point is moot. As well as, the federal prosecutions of Donald Trump. Again, if Donald Trump wins the federal cases, well, more than they will go away. If he loses, I don’t think Joe Biden has a vested interest in seeing Donald Trump convicted. So, again, I think that’s the election, wrap these cases up against Donald Trump are not going anywhere.
