Trump Rages Against ‘Fake News’ ABC and View’s Alyssa Farah Griffin: ‘She’s a Joke’
President Donald Trump blasted “fake news” ABC and The View’s Alyssa Farah Griffin in a fiery moment at the White House on Tuesday.
During a cabinet meeting, the president refused to take a question from ABC, citing his reason as the treatment of Vice President JD Vance during a tense interview with George Stephanopoulos. The pair got heated in their exchange over a border czar Tom Homan reportedly being investigated for allegedly accepting a bribe.
“I don’t take questions from ABC fake news after what you did with Stephanopoulos to the vice president of the United States. I don’t take questions from ABC fake news,” Trump said with the vice president seated next to him.
He then took a question from pro-MAGA reporter Brian Glenn, who praised Trump as a “peacemaker” over a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Glenn brought up a previous comment by Griffin in which she said she would wear a MAGA hat on The View and thank Trump should the hostages in Gaza be released. Now that they have been, the clip of Griffin has gone viral with conservatives, including the president’s son, asking when exactly she’ll follow through on her promise.
Trump recalled Griffin’s time in his first administration as a communications official, saying she wrote glowingly about him in letters at the time. Her joining The View proves, according to the president, what a “fraud” the show is.
Trump said:
She gave me the most beautiful letter when, you know, the administration, time came up. The election was rigged. I left. She gave me the most beautiful letter you have ever seen. I was a great president. What a great job. Some of the letter’s been quoted. This is Alyssa, who I never thought she was very outstanding outstanding.
I figured she would not make it. And she didn’t have a big role here either. Then we had January 6th, and she left after that or before that. But she gave me the most beautiful letters. And then, months after she left, while we weren’t here any longer, she sent another letter, a glowing letter, beautiful letter. And then, she got hired by The View, they gave her a couple of bucks, and she changed her view very quickly. I never thought she’d make it. I never thought she had what it took in any way.
He added, “I think she’s a joke.”
“If he does good, if he gets the Israeli hostages out — I promise I will wear a MAGA hat for one day on the show and say, ‘Thank you for doing it,'” Griffin said in January.
