Trump Roasts GOP Candidate In Weird Fox News Rant About Cats
President Donald Trump roasted a Republican candidate for mayor in a weird rant torpedoing him over the issue of cats in Gracie Mansion.
New York City mayoral candidate and Queens Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani (D-NY) Mamdani is the shock frontrunner in a four-way race between former Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) — now running as an independent — Mayor Eric Adams (D-NY), and Curtis Sliwa (R-NY) in a race that Trump has waded into with both feet.
Sliwa is a long-shot candidate and a colorful New York character who owns 16 cats and wants to house more of the animals at the mayor’s residence should he win.
During a marathon interview on Friday’s edition of Fox & Friends, Trump focused on the cats as he suggested the Guardian Angels founder isn’t “exactly prime-time”:
BRIAN KILMEADE: But here’s why that that really matter, to Ainsley’s question, is because he’s not pro-police. He’s pro-social worker to sending them out there and those cops aren’t backed they’re not going to do their job.
So you got Cuomo, Sliwa, and Adams. Are you calling for those three to drop out?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Well, I think they have to have one —
BRIAN KILMEADE: Or one, say —
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: And it would look to me like Cuomo frankly is leading the other two and uhh–.
Look, i’m a Republican.
But Curtis is not exactly prime time, re— per–, you know he wants cats to be in Gracie mansion, he wants to open it up as — get, that’s the home for those that don’t know.
BRIAN KILMEADE: He’s a good crimefighter —
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: –nificent. The magnificent home of the mayor, it’s beautiful, Gracie Mansion to me is like a place in New York.
Now you we don’t need to have thousands of cats in one —
BRIAN KILMEADE: He’d want cats to eat the rats.
