Watch a Bunch of Religious Leaders Say ‘Happy Holidays’ in New Ad Running on…Fox News

Fox News viewers Monday morning were subjected to a new commercial on the network that likely drew fury from an audience that is no fan of the phrase “happy holidays.”

The ad, from the Polish National Foundation, features a series of religious clerics from five different faiths — Roman Catholic, Jewish, Polish Orthodox, Muslim, and Lutheran — thanking the “people of the United States” for helping establish democracy in the country 28 years ago.

The Polish religious leaders take turns expressing their own religion’s holidays in their respective languages before all proudly declaring “Happy Holidays!”

To regular viewers of Fox & Friends — a show on which the war to save Christmas is being waged on a regular basis, and “Happy Holidays” is seen as the ultimate rallying cry of the godless opposition — the ad will likely feel somewhat out of place.

I had to do some digging to find out what pagan-Starbucks-cup-wielding group produced the sacrilegious spot, to find it’s a recently established government agency created to promote Poland abroad.

Here’s a statement on the ad — which you can watch above — courtesy of the PNF:

This morning the Polish National Foundation released a “Happy Holidays” TV spot in the United States. The 30-second message will play on major Fox News Channel programs and CNBC’s morning Squawk Box. This media buy ensures that the Foundation’s message will reach a wide spectrum of American society as well as parts of the global financial community located in the United States. It will run through New Year’s Eve and features clerics from the five major faiths of Poland: Roman Catholic, Jewish, Polish Orthodox, Muslim, and Lutheran, reflecting Poland’s centuries-old traditions of pluralism and tolerance. Together, the clerics extend a message of goodwill from the people of Poland to the American people. They wish Americans ‘happy holidays’ and express Poland’s gratitude for the United States’ role twenty-eight years ago in helping secure Poland’s freedom.
