View Co-Host Licenses Likeness to AI Company and Praises ‘New Art Form’

View co-host Sunny Hostin has licensed her likeness to an AI company and praised the “new art form” in her announcement.

Hostin, who has co-hosted The View since 2016, licensed her likeness to the Fountain 0, and she’s now one of the most recognizable faces to do so.

Variety first reported on Hostin’s new move, which she said will use her image for projects and adaptations of her novels.

“To be able to bring my novels to life in movie and TV form, and actually have my image inserted in the productions, so that audiences can relate to me through my stories beyond my role as an author, is incredibly exciting to me,” Hostin said. “This entire generational innovation in filmmaking from Fountain 0 gives me confidence that AI can give me a way to both more fully develop, and more fully immerse myself in, [intellectual property] I have developed.”

Hostin argued “top-quality AI productions cannot only enable writers and directors to have their imaginations unleashed and no longer be tethered to budgetary constraints,” but also “pioneer a new art form which can open up new dimensions for how public personalities can engage with audiences.”

Fountain 0 CEO Ash Koosha said the company is “gratified” that Hostin is willing to team with the company, admitting it’s “obviously new territory for major talent personalities.”

AI companies, Hostin claimed, can create content that traditional studios are avoiding.

“I feel particularly strongly that there is a need to bring stories to the big screen that are more in tune with the lives of diverse audiences that Hollywood focuses too little on, and I believe Fountain 0’s AI productions can have a major impact on responding to the interests of these underserved audiences,” she said.

Hostin’s books include the Summer Beach trilogy, which includes Summer on the Bluffs, Summer on Sag Harbor, and Summer on Highland Beach.

While there has been an aggressive backlash to AI from numerous artists, some have been attempting to embrace the technology. Sir Michael Caine recently licensed his well-known voice to be used for a new audiobook version of The Odyssey, and the family of the late actor Val Kilmer, who died in 2025, have licensed his likeness. The dead actor will have a significant role in the upcoming film As Deep as the Grave.

Fountain 0 previously made waves with their fully AI-generated Dreams of Violets, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival this year.
