WATCH: Andrew Cuomo Call Ends on Live Radio as He’s Pressed About Trump Support

Andrew Cuomo’s phone line suddenly dropped — or he seemed to hang up, depending on who was listening — when he was being pressed during a local radio interview about President Donald Trump supporting him to by mayor of New York City over democratic socialist frontrunner Zohran Mamdani.

Cuomo’s PR team, after the interview, said it was simply a bad connection striking at a bad time.

The awkward moment happened during Cuomo’s appearance on Ebro in the Morning on Hot 97 in NYC on Monday, hosted by Ebro Darden, Laura Stylez, and Peter Rosenberg.

Darden was fuming at Cuomo about how Trump said he preferred Cuomo to Mamdani on Sunday night’s episode of 60 Minutes, and also yelling about “Jamaican Americans and Haitian Americans that are gettin’ ran down on” by ICE.

“Your boy was just on 60 Minutes, Cuomo, saying that you’re his guy!” Darden added.

“No, first of—” Cuomo started to say, before his line dropped.

“Trump said you’re his candidate! If he had to pick a bad democrat… or a communist, he’s picking you,” Darden continued.

After 7 seconds of dead airtime, the hosts noticed Cuomo was no longer there.

“Hello?” Stylez asked.

“I think they cut him off, I think that he had to wrap,” Rosenberg added.

“Oh. I really wanted to hear that answer,” Stylez added.

Jeff Coltin, a Politico reporter focused on NYC politics, later reported that “Cuomo’s campaign said his phone call dropped right as Ebro was berating him over having Trump’s support. But it seemed like Cuomo might have hung up.”

Coltin added: “Either way, HOT 97 apparently deleted the awkward moment from the YouTube page.”

He then shared a clip of the hang-up/dropped call.

Not only has the video been pulled from YouTube, but the audio appears to have been stripped from the show’s episode on Spotify as well. And a page on the station’s website dedicated to the interview stopped working on Monday afternoon.

Trump, the night before on 60 Minutes, said he was not a “fan of Cuomo,” but he supported him more than Mamdani.

“If it’s going to be between a bad Democrat and a communist, I’m going to pick the bad Democrat all the time,” Trump said.
