‘You Are a Real Professional’ Trump Applauds Fox News Reporter Trey Yingst for Israel-Hamas Coverage

President Donald Trump’s good cheer on Monday even extended to some members of the media, with the president heaping praise on Fox News chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst for his coverage of the Israel-Hamas War over the last two years.

“I watched your coverage, and I really appreciate it. You are a real professional — not because it’s good or bad, you’re just really professional,” Trump told Yingst during a brief TV interview from Israel. “It would be great if other people could do what you do, because, you know, they put negative spin [in their news stories].”

The president then said he has been pleasantly surprised that has not been the case with the recent coverage of the Israel-Hamas hostage deal he spearheaded. “Everybody” in the “fake news,” Trump said, has been positive about the deal.

“It is sort of a miracle, actually,” Trump added.

The president’s interview with Fox News came a few hours after 20 living hostages were released by Hamas. It also comes a little more than two years after Hamas terrorists broke into Israel and slaughtered 1,200 people, before taking hundreds of hostages back to Gaza.

Trump said, both on his way to Israel aboard Air Force One on Sunday and again on Monday, that he believed the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas would hold and that peace would sweep the Middle East.

“I think it’s going to hold,” Trump said on Sunday. “I think people are — a lot of reasons why it’s going to hold – but I think people are tired of it. It’s been centuries [of fighting], okay, not just recent. It’s been centuries. I think people are tired of it.”

He told Yingst on Monday that the ceasefire deal was “one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen” because leaders from both Israel and the Arab world wanted it.
