Police in Madison, WI, sent out updated information Monday that a teacher, a teenage student, and a juvenile suspect were killed Monday, following a shooting at a private Christian school.
Madison Police Chief Shon F. Barnes said the shooter was believed to be a student at the school, and that police did not fire their weapons upon making entry to the school.
Barnes said police were called to the scene at 10:57 a.m., local time.
“We do not know that the shooter had any prior contact with law enforcement,” Barnes said at an afternoon news conference. “But I did do a check of the school. There were some calls, but they were like 911 hang-ups, things of that nature. There was nothing that suggested that the school was a place that violence would occur.”
