Conservatives Insist Harris Honor Agreement to Debate Vance After Dems Bash Trump Over ABC Debate

Republicans on social media insisted Vice President Kamala Harris must debate Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) later this month after she previously agreed to square off against the Republican vice presidential nominee.

Scores of conservatives took to X (formerly Twitter) Saturday to weigh in after Harris claimed Trump had backed out of a Sept. 10 debate against her. The debate was scheduled in June and was supposed to pit former President Donald Trump against President Joe Biden for a second time this summer.

Biden dropped out just weeks after his first debate against Trump, catapulting Harris to the top of the ticket.

Trump announced in a Truth Social post that he would not attend the forum and instead claimed he’d “agreed” to a Fox News September 4 debate.

The Harris campaign put out a response saying Trump is “running scared” from facing Harris, and Democrats quickly began to spread the word “coward” on social media. The Vice President eventually posted on her own X/Twitter account taunting Trump.

The framing of the argument angered many Republicans, who fired back at Harris. Many insisted that in staying true to the standard Trump was being held to, Harris would still need to debate Vance:
