Fox Anchor Attacks CNN And MSNBC For Not Airing Speech After Trump White House Called Them ‘SHAMEFUL’
Fox News anchor Trace Gallagher attacked CNN and MSNBC for not airing a speech by slain Maryland woman Rachel Morin’s mother, after President Donald Trump’s White House made similar attacks.
News broke Monday night that Victor Martinez-Hernandez — who entered the U.S. unlawfully from El Salvador — was found guilty of rape, kidnapping, and the first-degree murder of Rachel Morin, a mother of five children. The Trump administration has seized on the case as a counterpoint to the wrongful deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt introduced Patty Morin during Wednesday’s briefing to recount her daughter’s murder in excruciating detail and denounce Sen. Chris Van Hollen’s (D-MD) efforts on behalf of Garcia — who had nothing to do with the crime. Trump White House officials then attacked CNN and MSNBC for not airing Morin’s speech live, calling the decision “SHAMEFUL” and “reprehensible.”
On Thursday’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Fox News at Night, Gallagher followed suit with a “Common Sense Department” commentary accusing both networks of choosing a side — and providing viewers with a solemn opportunity to purchase a”Common Sense” coffee mug:
TRACE GALLAGHER: While the Fox News at Night Common Sense Department thinks if there is any question about which side CNN and MSNBC are on, just rewind the DVR to late yesterday afternoon and scroll through to see what both networks were covering.
Because just before 5 p.m. Eastern Time, Patty Morin was speaking live at the White House about her daughter Rachel Morin who was raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant.
Patty Morin also talked about how shameful it was that her senator, Democrat Chris Van Hollen, ignored the story of her daughter being killed by an illegal immigrant and instead flew to El Salvador to win the release of another illegal immigrant, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, accused of being an MS-13 gang member who repeatedly beat his wife.
But CNN and MSNBC didn’t wanna hear Patty Morin’s heart-rending narrative. They didn’t want to hear about Senator Van Hollen’s negative narrative because they had already adopted their own negative narrative, which is that Trump wrongfully deported a Maryland father.
And when you start talking about moms that are murdered and wives that are beaten, boy, it just muddies up the message.
So instead of having to lie, you simply omit. You take it out. Common Sense thinks CNN and MSNBC have gotten very good at practicing tree-in-the-forest journalism, meaning if you don’t cover it, did it really happen?

TRACE GALLAGHER: Yeah, the liberal media has gone all in on their coverage of an alleged gang member deported to El Salvador, but largely ignoring the emotional story of a Maryland angel mom whose daughter was murdered by an illegal immigrant.
