“I’m not the Republican team player,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told The Hill, in a new interview published Saturday. “I never have been.”

That much was made crystal clear throughout the rest of The Hill’s one-on-one with the Georgia congresswoman. In the lengthy interview, Taylor Greene absolutely destroyed House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) — whom she called “terrible.”

“He went from having a voting record to literally a month later … going against his own voting record and being Speaker of the House,” Greene said. She added, “Literally all of a sudden talking about doing things that he had literally voted against only a month before that. And, you know, that was unacceptable to me, and it still is.”

Specifically, Greene trashed Johnson for putting forth a Continuing Resolution to fund the government after previously voting against it.

“That was the whole reason why Kevin McCarthy got ousted, was working with Democrats and passing a clean CR,’ Greene said. “And you know, for me I was like, ‘what a hypocrisy.’”

After an initial rift between the two, Greene had outsized influence during McCarthy’s speakership. That has not been the case thus far with Johnson, whose spokesperson told The Hill, “Speaker Johnson takes into consideration the input of each and every one of the members across the Conference.”

Greene went on to make clear that Johnson has a long way to go towards winning her over.

“Honeymoon is over,” she said.
