At Least One Dead and Many Wounded After Shooting Near Chiefs Super Bowl Parade
At least one person is dead and at least 10 people were wounded following a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade celebration on Wednesday.
The Kansas City Police Department has detained multiple suspects, according to Fox’s Marcus Officer.
According to law enforcement, the shooting took place at the city’s Union Station near a garage as fans were preparing to leave the festivities.
“We need people to exit the area as quickly and safely as possible and avoid the parking garage in order to facilitate treatment of shooting victims,” the Kansas City Police Department said in a statement. “Many of you have footage of many officers securing union station, they are working to provide for the safety of everyone inside union station and expedite care of those injured.”

Police told fans to leave the area so first responders could treat the victims. Law enforcement are working to reunite families that were separated amid the shooting’s chaos.

Kanas City Police Commissioner Stacey Graves confirmed during a press conference that the number of victims as a result of the shooting is between 10-15 with one individual deceased. Graves noted the department is not aware of the exact conditions of the injured victims and that two suspects have been detained in regards to the incident.
The commissioner added that she does not believe any of the victims were children.
“This is not Kansas City. I’m angered by what happened,” Graves told the press. “I want you to know that the Kansas City Missouri Police Department and all the law enforcement officers that were there today that were serving and protecting did the best that they could and I’m so proud of them that they ran in to danger getting two people in custody and at the same time rendering life sustaining aid to those victims.”
