Maria Bartiromo ‘Would Not Be Surprised’ If Market Turns Around TODAY as World Fears ‘Black Monday’
Maria Bartiromo, the Fox Business anchor and loyalist to President Donald Trump, is providing a cheery outlook to the nightmare plaguing Wall Street, going so far as to predict the markets will turn itself around by Monday’s closing bell.
“Honestly, I would not be surprised if this market reverses course entirely by the close,” Bartiromo said on her Mornings With Maria show during an exchange with fellow Fox Business personality Cheryl Casone.

CHERYL CASONE: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer set to speak about U.S. tariffs today, where he’s reportedly going to acknowledge the popularity of Trump’s stance on free trade and immigration. He said Trump has done something we don’t agree with but there’s a reason people are behind him about this. The world changed. Globalization is over. And we are now we’re in a new era. Of course, Trump announced a 10% levy on goods from the U.K., Maria. And those are some of your headlines.
MARIA BARTIROMO: That’s such an important point that you’re reporting there, Cheryl, on what the U.K. Prime minister is saying and that is one more element that we’re watching. Are we going of see a deal between the U.K. And the U.S.? Are we going to see a deal between the U.S. and Israel? Are we going to see a deal with the U.S. and any substantive country that actually could give this market something to reverse this?
CASONE: Vietnam.
BARTIROMO: Vietnam is another one, Cheryl. Great point. We’re going to be watching this because this is what we’re seeing right now and every deal that we may see is going to impact this market. Honestly, I would not be surprised if this market reverses course entirely by the close. We’re waiting to hear any news out of these negotiations out of the White House. Thank you for that, Cheryl.
Last week, Bartiromo told Mornings with Maria panelists to “buy the dip” just before the markets opened to a swift freefall. On the day after Trump’s “Liberation Day,” Bartiromo expressed that she hoped his new tariff policy was a “negotiation bluff.”
