Moskowitz Brutally Roasts Elon Musk’s X For Only Limiting Kanye West’s Account Over Porn: ‘Just Keep Your SS Uniform On!’

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) used his time during Wednesday’s Judiciary Committee hearing on the “Censorship-Industrial Complex” to roast one of the witnesses and Elon Musk’s approach to “free speech.”

Moskowitz began by taking jabs at Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the chairman of the Oversight Committee, who he said had held this exact same hearing eight times before – joking that the hearing felt like “Groundhog Day.”

Moskowitz eventually turned his attention to Michael Shellenberger, who was there as a witness for the majority. Shellenberger is described on the committee website as a “Twitter Files journalist and the CBR Chair of Politics, Censorship, and Free Speech at the University of Austin.”

Moskowitz addressed Shellenberger discussing censorship in Europe and said, “Maybe we should go to Europe, while we’re there, maybe we should go to Auschwitz to see what happens when you mainstream Nazis.”

“Mr. Shellenberger would say, ‘But Jared, free speech is absolute. Don’t be a censor.’ But actually, Kanye actually accidentally disproved that idea. He proved that free speech is not absolute,” Moskowitz continued, adding:

You see, what happened was he started posting porn on X and then all of a sudden the conservative free speech masters of the universe were outraged. Elon unfollowed him and then labeled Kanye’s account. So imagine if Kanye had only posted Nazi porn.

Well, Mr. Shellenberger and other conservatives would be saying, well, the Nazi party is okay as long as they keep their clothes on. So remember, if you’re a Nazi, just keep your SS uniform on! Don’t take it off because that’s when we’re going to get to censorship.

The Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) famously tweeted “Kanye. Elon. Trump.” The committee’s account deleted the tweet in 2022 and Kanye has since gone on to continue to post hateful, anti-Semitic screeds. Musk’s X finally limited Kanye’s account this week after he began posting pornography.
