Trump Demands Fall of ‘Death Trap’ Sanctuary Cities: ‘Disgracing Our Country’

With the most punitive of his tariffs on hold for now, President Donald Trump is focusing his ire on sanctuary cities, saying he’s working on yanking federal funding for any municipalities that limit cooperation with government immigration enforcement.
“No more Sanctuary Cities!” Trump posted in a Truth Social rant Thursday morning. “They protect the Criminals, not the Victims. They are disgracing our Country, and are being mocked all over the World. Working on papers to withhold all Federal Funding for any City or State that allows these Death Traps to exist!!!”
Immigration was a top issue for Trump as he sought reelection. On the campaign trail, he called the U.S. a “garbage can for the world.”
Last month, Trump called for the impeachment of Judge James Boasberg, who ordered the White House to cease deporting migrants under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, and has been a thorn in the president’s side on the issue.
Thursday’s social media tirade came a day after Trump abruptly paused some of his “Liberation Day” tariffs on various world nations while raising China’s retaliatory tariff rate to 125% based on its “lack of respect.”
